biography
Aaron Vercruysse joined HRTV in 2004, and his on-air work has expanded in recent years to include roles with a number of shows.
Vercruysse serves as host for "Against The Odds," "The Edge," and "Westrock Coffee First Call," which airs on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Additionally, he is also in studio for shifts during the network's daily racing coverage.
In recent years, Vercruysse has traveled to the last three Arkansas Derbies at Oaklawn for HRTV, and he also was on the network's on-site crew for the 2011 editions of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness.
He has served in other roles in recent years, including: Vice President of Racing and Wagering at Santa Anita, Magna Entertainment Corp. (MEC) Simulcast Director/Coordinator, and Racing Consultant for the Thoroughbred Owners of California.
Vercruysse developed an interest in racing as a youngster by accompanying his father to many visits to the track.
He acknowledges a longtime love of horses, but also has always enjoyed the challenge of deciphering key information when handicapping races.
He lives in Los Angeles with his two children.
