biography
Kurt Hoover has been with HRTV since 2002, and remains one of the sport's most respected voices in Southern California.
During his long association with HRTV, Hoover has filled a myriad of roles, serving as host, analyst, and reporter for its live racing coverage.
Additionally, through the years, Hoover has contributed to a host of original HRTV shows, including: "The Edge", "Race Day America", and "Against The Odds".
He also was a key member of the Eclipse Award-winning Santa Anita Park Broadcast team.
In addition to his decade-long work with HRTV, Hoover's worked with ESPN from 2003-05, where he covered the Triple Crown and other key races.
He also worked with CBS Sports as analyst for its weekly coverage of horseracing years ago, and co-hosted Fox SportsNet 2's airing of racing from both Santa Anita and Hollywood Park in the late 1990s.
Hoover's credits also include a long-time run as paddock simulcast host from Santa Anita and Hollywood Park.
Since 1993, he has co-hosted a weekly horseracing racing radio show on KLAA, in the Southern California market, with Mike Willman.
Hoover earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona in 1986.
He lives with his wife, Tina, in Long Beach, CA.
