Scott Hazelton joined HRTV in 2004 as a producer/reporter for feature segments.
Over the years, he has developed into a key member of HRTV's announcing stable. One of Scott's main roles is as a member of the "Pursuit of the Crown" and "Pursuit of the Cup" teams.
He can also be seen on most other shows as well, such as the show, “Grandstand,” spreading himself through the HRTV lineup.
Hazelton has enjoyed a number of great racing travel destinations, on HRTV's behalf. He has been an integral part of HRTV's Triple Crown coverage since 2008 as well as contributing to on-site coverage of the Breeders' Cup on a yearly basis. This past summer, Hazelton was an important contributor to the network's in-depth, on-track coverage of the prestigious Saratoga Summer meeting, making his first-ever trip to the fabled Spa.
Additionally, he has been to the United Arab Emirates for each Dubai World Cup renewal since 2008 for HRTV and the World Broadcast. In 2008, Scott was part of the Emmy-winning team for his work on “Inside Information's: Dubai World Cup"special.
A native of Bartlett, Illinois, Scott Hazelton was bred to work in racing. His father, esteemed trainer Richard Hazelton, a fixture on the Chicago and Arizona racing circuits is the leading all-time trainer at Arlington Park and has amassed 4,745 victories.
Horse racing has been a part of Scott's life since the beginning, growing up at tracks such as Sportsman’s Park, Arlington Park and Hawthorne in the Windy City suburbs.
Hazelton is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, with a degree in Broadcasting.
