Director
National TV Sports Network, HRTV “The Network for Horse Sports”, has the perfect opportunity for a creative individual who has the desire and ability to put their own stamp on a growing TV sports network. HRTV has an immediate opening for an experienced Director to oversee live sports TV shows and studio shows and work closely with the Producers and live production staff to create informative and entertaining programs while ensuring high quality of the on-air production and creative standards.

The successful candidate will lead the technical crew through all live programming and pre-production, including multi-tasking as Technical Directing as required. Will work with producers to develop show presentation of program content for air, contributing creative techniques to enhance the broadcast. This includes camera shots, set design, show formatting, lighting, graphic look. Utilizes a high level of creativity in directing, while working in the time sensitive and high pressure environment expected with live TV sports productions. Oversees the technical production staff during the assigned shift to maximize and motivate a “can do”/positive attitude amongst the crew; keeping crew focused on creating the best show possible. Responsible for ensuring all sources are routed correctly into and out of the control room, and overseeing trouble shooting and emergency technical procedures in the control room.

Requirements
Three plus (3+) years of experience directing live TV sports productions. Experience leading studio productions with lighting and multiple camera operations required. Must have proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate with producers to enhance creativity. Must be self-motivating, a team-motivator, and adept at managing program content and the changing content inerrant with live TV sports. Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Television, Communications or another closely related field, preferred.

Must have a thorough knowledge of studio and remote truck broadcast facilities through hands-on experience. Experience with GVG switchers and routing equipment required.

Must be flexible and able to work weekends, holidays and nights as that is when network premiere content airs.

Additionally, candidates must have up-to-date computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel experience.

A love of sports required, with horses and/or horse racing a definite plus.

Previous experience a must. College degree in related field.

Must have experience with Final Cut, Photoshop, After Effects and be a master at web protocols, codecs and formats.
