With more than 90 breeds of horses in North America, HorseFlicks takes a look at selected breeds with exceptional versatility and suitability for ownership, that few people may be truly familiar with.
We show viewers the passion that owners have for their particular breed, why they were attracted to their particular breed, and how this breed has impacted their lives, and lifestyles.
Breeds showcased during the "HorseFlicks" series on HRTV include: the Dutch Friesian, the Gypsy Vanners, the Morgan Horse - America's First Breed, the Paso Finos, the Akhal-Teke from Turkmenistan, the Peruvian Paso, the Cleveland Bay, the Costarricense de Paso, the Mangalarga Marchadores, Appaloosas and Welsh Ponies.
Episodes such as "Texas Thunder Percheron Hitch": proclaimed the "giants" of the draft horses averaging 18.2 hands in size, and weighing more than 2,200 pounds. This episode showcases Guinness Book World record-holders, Radar and Goliath.
