Lone Star Park will not be shown on HRTV until further notice due to a contractual dispute with the Texas horsemen.
HorseRacing TV (TM) (HRTV) has reached an agreement with Comcast Cable in the Greater Chicago Region for carriage of the 24-hour horseracing network, beginning on Wednesday, April 30.
The agreement will allow for horseracing fans in the Chicago area to get all the action of the upcoming Arlington Park racing season, which commences on Friday, May 2. The premier Thoroughbred racing facility in Illinois, the Arlington Park meeting continues through Sunday, September 21. The prestigious Grade 1, $1 million Arlington Million is the signature race of the 96-day meeting, and will be contested on Saturday, August 9.
HRTV will be available on Comcast's Digital Sports Tier on Channel 407, joining other prominent sports networks, including the NFL Network, NHL Network, Tennis Channel, CSTV, and various Fox Sports Regional Networks.
For the initial time, HorseRacing TV (TM) (HRTV) will present live coverage of the upcoming Calder Race Course meeting, which kicks off its 37th season of Thoroughbred racing this Monday, April 21.
The extensive meeting runs through Sunday, October 19, when the Tropical at Calder portion of the racing season commences and continues through January 2. HRTV's coverage will include all the racing action at Calder, including the Tropical at Calder meeting.
HRTV's full coverage will include post parades, up-to-date odds, and expert handicapping analysis.
Post time for each racing day is at 12:50 p.m. ET/9:50 a.m. PT, except Fridays when Calder will once again offer racing action at 2:55 p.m. ET/11:55 a.m. PT.

In order to better serve Thoroughbred racing fans throughout Western Pennsylvania, effective May 1, 2008 complete local coverage of The Meadows will no longer supersede HRTV’s national programming feed.
This decision is designed to enable fans in this region to receive complete, informative coverage from the sport's most prominent racing circuits, including: Churchill Downs, Aqueduct/Belmont/Saratoga, Calder Racecourse, Pimlico/Laurel, Arlington Park, and many others. In the past year, HRTV's original productions and live programming have expanded tremendously, which also necessitated this adjustment.
Harness racing from The Meadows will not be excluded from HRTV's broadcast menu; it will continue to be shown when time allows.
