Arcadia, CA, April 9, 2014 -- After another memorable weekend of racing, the Triple Crown trail leads to Oaklawn Park, and HRTV's (R) "Westrock Coffee First Call" show will emanate from Hot Springs, AR this Friday and Saturday to cover all the racing action, which includes two Grade 1 races -- the $1 million Arkansas Derby, a Triple Crown prep, on Saturday, as well as the $600,000 Apple Blossom for fillies and mares on Friday.
Hosted by Aaron Vercruysse and Jeff Siegel, and joined by Zoe Cadman, "Westrock Coffee First Call" will be at Oaklawn for the fourth consecutive year to chronicle the track's biggest weekend. The one-hour show, which airs at Noon ET, provides racing fans with pertinent interviews, commentary, news, race replays and morning workouts. Friday's show from Oaklawn will be a special edition of "Westrock Coffee First Call."
Later each day, Vercruysse and Siegel will also co-anchor their lively show, "The Player" (3-5 p.m. ET on Friday and 3-6 p.m. ET on Saturday), from Oaklawn. "The Player" is tailored to serious horseplayers, offering information and selections, spiced with a mixture of analysis, wagering strategies and minute-to-minute live Thoroughbred action.
HRTV on-site talent will provide full coverage of both outstanding days of racing, with Saturday's card including two other major stakes -- the Oaklawn Handicap and the Northern Spur.
