Arcadia, CA, Aug. 29 -- HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will continue to provide equestrian enthusiasts with outstanding events when it offers the free live webcast of the Hampton Classic’s featured event, the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup™ Qualifier, on Sunday, September 2, at 2 p.m. EDT.

Viewers may go to to see the Grand Prix streamed live.

The 37th annual Hampton Classic Horse Show takes place in Bridgehampton, NY, and is regarded as one of the premier show jumping contests in the U.S.  And the event, annually held over Labor Day weekend, brings star power both on horse and
in the crowd.  It provides a fitting, grand finale to the summer season.

Always a showcase event, the Grand Prix features the world’s best show jumping horses and riders.  The event takes an added significance with some of the competing riders having just returned from the London Olympic Games.

"We are very pleased to offer equestrian fans one of the season's most renowned events," said Scott Daruty, President of HRTV.  "The London Games shined a bright light on the sport, and fans will be able to see some of the Olympic's top performers from one of the sport's most prominent venues."

The Grand Prix is open to horses that successfully complete Friday's $50,000 Spy Coast Farm/Young Horse Show Series Grand Prix Qualifier.  Along with Olympians, world champions and other show jumping veterans, such as defending champion and
two-time Olympic Gold Medalist McLain Ward, are slated to compete.

Ward, who has won the Classic’s featured Grand Prix a record six times -- twice as many as any other rider -- will be joined in the field by his London Olympic teammate Beezie Madden, also a two-time Gold Medalist, and by fellow London Olympian Rodrigo Pessoa of Brazil, as well as Shane Sweetnam, who served as first alternate for Ireland’s team at the Olympic Games.

Additional Olympic veterans entered to compete in the Hampton Classic include: Norman Dello Joio, Mario Deslauriers, Joe Fargis, Nona Garson, Leslie Howard, Anne Kursinski and Peter Leone of the United States, as well as Kevin Babington of Ireland and Ljubov Kochetova of Russia, who finished third in the Classic’s $250,000 FTI Grand Prix last year.

This year, the Grand Prix is part of the new Taylor Harris Triple Crown Challenge, which awards a $200,000 bonus should the same horse-and-rider combination win the $100,000 Wells Fargo Grand Prix of Devon, $250,000 FTI Grand Prix at the Hampton Classic, and $250,000 Alltech Grand Prix at the Alltech National Horse Show.  Ward won the Wells Fargo Grand Prix of Devon on Antares F
in May and now stands to win the $200,000 bonus should he ride Antares F to wins at the remaining two events in the Challenge.

"We are thrilled that equestrian sports fans across the country will be able to watch our $250,000 FTI Grand Prix on HRTV," said Shanette Barth Cohen, Executive Director of the Hampton Classic.  "Grand Prix Day at the Hampton Classic is one of the most exciting days of the year and we know that everyone who watches will enjoy seeing the best our sport has to offer."

HRTV's addition of the high-profile Hampton Classic adds to its growing live of live webcasts.  In recent weeks, the network offered the Adequan/FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships, and the inaugural Totally Thoroughbred Horse Show from Pimlico Racecourse in July.

Earlier this year, was the online site to view the HITS webcasts of the Lamborghini Grand Prix and the Ocala Grand Prix.
