HRTV PROGRAMMING NOTES:
Network's Royal Ascot Coverage Begins on Tuesday, June 18
HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will provide live coverage of prestigious Royal Ascot from the United Kingdom, beginning on Tuesday, June 18 and continuing through Saturday, June 22.
In addition to the daily race coverage, which will begin at 9 a.m. ET each day, HRTV's Christina Blacker (Tuesday) and Millie Ball (Wednesday-Saturday) will host a half-hour nightly recap show that will air on Tuesday through Friday at 8 p.m. ET, and on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
HRTV's top analyst Jeff Siegel will present a short preview for each Ascot card, which will be included in a nightly recap show, and also be available online at www.HRTV.com <http://www.hrtv.com/> .
Ascot presents brilliant racing throughout the week, with a host of Group 1 races spread over the five days. A major showcase race is set for Opening Day, Tuesday, when Kentucky Derby and Dubai World Cup winner Animal Kingdom squares off in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes.
Royal Ascot is one of the prestigious international meetings carried by HRTV. The network also includes a thorough menu of Group 1 races from the United Kingdom, Australia, Dubai, France and South America.
Busy Weekend Slate Features Special Coverage of Stephen Foster & Centaur Stakes
HRTV's coverage of a busy stakes will feature enhanced emphasis of a pair of stakes races, the $500,000 Stephen Foster from Churchill Downs and the $200,000 Centaur Stakes from Indiana Downs.
Annually one of the top races for older horses, the Stephen Foster is the centerpiece of Churchill's special "Downs After Dark" program, which offers a 6 p.m. ET first post.
Caton Bredar will provide on-site insights from beneath the Twin Spires.
The $200K Centaur Stakes for 3-year-olds tops a solid stakes card at Indiana Downs, and HRTV's Jon White will be stationed on-track to supply enhanced coverage of the night's action, including in-depth analysis and up-to-date happenings.
