Amy J. Zimmerman - Executive Producer & Sr. VP Production & Programming
Amy J. Zimmerman has been the Executive Producer of the network since its inception in 2002. She has won every major award associated with horse racing and television - most more than once. Amy has been the Executive Producer, Producer or Associate Producer of 13 Eclipse Award Winning television shows; a two-time winner of the International Simulcast Award ; a two-time national Emmy Award winner; and the winner of a Regional Emmy Award for an "Inside Information" feature produced by HRTV. Her most recent national Emmy Award came as part of NBC Sports' Olympic Coverage as a feature producer for the network's gymnastics coverage from Beijing.
Under her guidance, HRTV has either won or received the honorable mention for the Eclipse Award for National Television Feature for the last four consecutive years. Her reputation is such that, in addition to her role at HRTV, Amy has worked with all four major networks as a horse racing producer. She is currently on staff for both NBC and ESPN/ABC for all three Triple Crown races since 2001, and has been a producer for every Breeders' Cup telecast since 1988.
Amy was honored by the California State Legislature as an Outstanding Woman in California Thoroughbred Racing in 2004, the first year the state honored such individuals. She has also produced numerous sporting events outside of horse racing, including several coast-to-coast antique car rallies for ESPN and The History Channel.
A member of Santa Anita's staff since 1986, Amy serves as that track's VP- Business Coordination & Director of Broadcasting, concurrent with her position at HRTV, which is headquartered at the Arcadia, California track. Amy is a graduate from the University of Southern California with degrees in Journalism and History.
