Arcadia, CA, June 28 -- The late Marje Everett, a powerful, yet polarizing, force in racing for more than three decades, will be the featured subject when HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, presents its award-winning documentary show, Inside Information: Marge Everett, this Sunday, July 1 at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Everett died in March, at age 90.

An unwavering force in Southern California racing from 1972-1991 when she served as director, then CEO, of Hollywood Park, Everett established a notable legacy, and the network's half-hour show will offer an in-depth look at an
undeniable strong personality that shaped Hollywood Park's fortunes for many years.

A pioneer for women in horseracing, Everett was instrumental in Hollywood Park's hosting of the first-ever Breeders' Cup in 1984, and her tenure was marked by fostering strong relationships with horsemen, who appreciated her vision and love for the sport. Everett also catered to many larger-than-life Hollywood elite, including Ronald and Nancy Reagan, Jimmy Stewart, Elizabeth Taylor, Cary Grant, John Forsythe, and many others.

Her first foray into a major racing position came in 1960 when she inherited control of Arlington Park and Washington Park in Chicago, upon her father's death.

However, Everett's combative and brusque manner was not appreciated in many circles, including executives at other tracks, and her own employees. Additionally, her dealings with Illinois Governor Otto Kerner, Jr. in the late 1960s were cited as contributing to his downfall.

The documentary will offer a balanced portrayal of the successful, but controversial, Everett.
