HORSERACING TV HEADS T0 BELMONT PARK FOR ON-SITE COVERAGE
New York, NY, June 1 -- HorseRacing TV's (TM) (HRTV) comprehensive coverage of all three legs of this year's Triple Crown reaches its final destination when it travels to Belmont Park for the 141st running of the $1 million Belmont Stakes, slated for Saturday, June 6, beginning with live onsite broadcasts from storied Elmont, NY facility on Friday, June 5.
Laffit Pincay III, Jeff Siegel, and Scott Hazelton will anchor the weekend coverage, including the "Pursuit of the Crown, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton" show. Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens will contribute his valued insights from the network's Arcadia, CA studio, along with Millie Ball, who has participate d in the show since it launched earlier this year. Stevens remains behind to be with his wife, Angie, who is expecting the couple's first child.
"Pursuit of the Crown, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton" show, will originate from Belmont, beginning on Friday. The half-hour show, which has chronicled the Triple Crown trail since the winter, will air at Noon ET/9 a.m. PT on Friday, and 9:30 a.m. ET/6:30 a.m. PT on Belmont Stakes Day. The final show in this year's "Pursuit of the Crown" series, which will recap the Belmont Stakes, as well as the entire Triple Crown, will air on Sunday at Noon ET/9 a.m. PT.
HRTV's Belmont Week coverage begins on Wednesday, June 3, when it carries MSG Network's airing of the Belmont post position draw, which commences at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT.
HRTV's Friday coverage will also include a half-hour "Belmont Picks" show (11:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. PT), which will provide in-depth handicapping analysis on the eve of the final Triple Crown leg.
The network will also offer in-depth Belmont Stakes post-race coverage on Saturday, beginning at roughly 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
(Saturday's HRTV racing action won't be limited to the U.S., with special live international racing coverage of England’s all-important Epsom Derby.)
The network's daily coverage of the Belmont Week happenings gets underway on Wednesday wit h its "RaceDay America" show at Noon ET/9 a.m., emanating from the network's California studio. The show features a preview of that day's racing action from across the country, as well as interviews with key racing personalities.
