Christopher Swan currently serves as Senior Vice President of Distribution and Business Development at HRTV.
In 2006, Chris joined HRTV, then known as HorseRacing TV, in his present capacity. Initiatives include the introduction of a subscription-based broadband portal that streams HRTV's signal and web-exclusive content to horse fans worldwide. Domestic distribution of HRTV's linear channel has grown 45 percent during his tenure at the network.
Prior to joining HRTV, Chris pursued a pre-launch opportunity with The Golf Channel, cable television's first network devoted to coverage of a single sport. From its launch in 1995 to its eventual sale to Comcast in 2004, The Golf Channel’s enterprise value rose to exceed $1 billion and is widely credited as being one of cable television’s most notable success stories.
While at TGC, Chris rose from the position of Regional Director of Sales and Marketing to Managing Director, Affiliate Sales, overseeing the national distribution efforts.
In 1986, he began his career as an intern at New England Sports Network (NESN), eventually ascending to the position of Manager of Affiliate Relations.
Chris is a 1985 graduate of Westfield State College, Westfield, Massachusetts with a BA degree in Political Science and 1991 graduate of Lesley University, Cambridge, Massachusetts with an MA in Management.
He and his wife Lisa live in Medway, Massachusetts with their two sons.
