Dennis Murphy has served as Senior Vice President, Advertising Sales, for HRTV since 2007.
His responsibilities have included developing the advertising sales infrastructure of HRTV from the ground-up. In addition to revenue forecasting and inventory control, he works closely with all HRTV departments to develop, sell, and fulfill sponsorship packages. His role also includes building and maintaining cross-promotional relationships with other industry media outlets.
Dennis also oversees all HRTV sales efforts, including hrtv.com, direct response and per inquiry advertising.
Prior to joining HRTV, Dennis enjoyed a long two-decade tenure with ESPN/ABC Sports, rising to Vice President, Customer Marketing/Sales. He managed an office responsible for approximately $90 million in billing, working closely with a number of primary clients, including American Honda, Charles Schwab, Pacific Life, Cisco Systems, and many more.
He also played a primary role on the West Coast in unifying ESPN and ABC Sports sales effort during corporate restructuring. Dennis originally joined ESPN in 1980 as Affiliate Marketing Representative, and moved into roles as Account Executive and Director, Advertising/Sales.
From 1975-80, Dennis was a network reporter for TV Guide magazine, reviewing TV programming on three major networks.
His education includes graduate studies in Mass Communications with a B.S. in Telecommunications and Films from San Diego State University, California.
