Michael Canale serves as HRTV's Senior Producer and Director of Remote Operations.
Canale joined HRTV in November, 2006, and has functioned in a variety of key production roles. He was first hired as Lead Producer, and then became Senior Producer, Live Production, prior to gaining his recent title.
During his tenure at HRTV, he has produced major racing events, including coverage of the sport's Triple Crown (Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes), as well as the Breeders' Cup. Additionally, he has overseen productions of the Arlington Million and the Maryland Million.
At HRTV, his production of "Inside Information: Joe Torre, Safe at Home," garnered a 2011 Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Award in the "Sports Program Feature Segment."
A veteran sports and entertainment producer for two decades, Canale joined HRTV after working at TVG. Throughout his career, he has also produced programming for Fox Sports, MLB Network, E! Network, Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) and Sun Sports.
Canale has also produced Dodger home games for MLBTV and “Live from the Red Carpet” shows at the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, SAG and Critics Choice Awards for the E! Network.
He also produced and wrote several feature films: National Lampoon’s "Gold Diggers," "Eight Days A Week," "Casualties," and "Illusions." In association with Bud Yorkin Productions, Canale was an associate producer on the films: "Twice in a Lifetime," "Arthur II," and "Love Hurts."
He is a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles, where he studied Motion Pictures and Television.
